The Castle of Villerouge-Termenès, beautifully restored, welcomes you inside its fortified walls for an immersion into Cathar history and medieval daily life. Its impressive walls and arranged spaces recall the strategic role of this fortress in the Corbières.
An immersive audio-guided tour
The audio-guided tour takes you through the different rooms of the castle, with reconstructed settings and multimedia animations that bring the Middle Ages to life. You will discover medieval society, the daily life of its inhabitants, and the tragic fate of Guillaume Bélibaste, the last Cathar “perfect,” executed here in 1321.

Book today and come whenever you wish, within the indicated opening days and hours.
- Annual closure from mid-December to the end of February.
- From July 1 to August 31: every day from 10:00 am to 7:30 pm.
- From March 31 to June 30 and from September 1 to October 31: every day from 10:00 am to 1:00 pm and from 2:00 pm to 6:00 pm. Open continuously on weekends and public holidays.
- March, November and until December 15: weekends and public holidays from 10:00 am to 5:00 pm.
Last admission 1 hour before closing.
Children under 16 must be accompanied by a paying adult.
