In 2024, our Sudfrance.fr team had the pleasure of managing the organization of the 14th National Gîtes de France® Congress, hosted by Gîtes de France® Sud (Aude, Hérault, Pyrénées-Orientales, and Tarn).

From May 27 to 29, Carcassonne became the meeting point for 200 delegates: directors, presidents, and managers from all over France. This unmissable event focused on exchange, sharing, and conviviality, and we are proud to give you a behind-the-scenes look at this successful gathering.

A congress filled with highlights, meetings, and productive workshops

The congress was designed to combine strategic reflection with constructive exchanges. Delegates were welcomed at the Hôtel de la Cité in Carcassonne with a welcome coffee before the official opening of the 14th National Gîtes de France® Congress.

These two days were marked by a rich and engaging program that energized the entire congress, including the general assemblies of the National Federation Gîtes de France and SAS Gîtes de France, a presentation of the brand’s socio-economic impact by MKG Consulting, an overview of changes to the statutes of national structures and the objectives of dedicated workshops, federation news, sharing the conclusions of thematic workshops, and the closing of the congress with the Coup de Cœur awards, recognizing owners of gîtes, guesthouses, and sustainable accommodations.

 Meals and social evenings to strengthen connections

Beyond the meetings and workshops, the congress placed great emphasis on creating moments of conviviality to encourage informal exchanges among participants. Meals and evening events thus became highlights for sharing and relaxation.

The cocktail dinner and partner evening at Domaine de Russol offered an opportunity to meet and network in an elegant and welcoming setting, with shuttles provided to facilitate participants’ transportation. Attendees then enjoyed a dance evening and convivial dinner, strengthening the connections made throughout the day.

For lunch, those preferring a lighter or quicker option benefited from a seated cocktail at the convention center of the Hôtel de la Cité or a box lunch, allowing everyone to enjoy these convivial moments according to their preferences and schedule. These moments helped make the congress both a professional and human experience.

Activities and Discoveries in Carcassonne

To complement the professional and social experience of the congress, discovery and heritage activities were offered to the participants. The city of Carcassonne, with its rich medieval heritage, provided the perfect setting for these moments of relaxation and culture. Attendees had the opportunity to visit the Château Comtal and stroll through the streets of the Cité de Carcassonne, a true historical gem listed as a UNESCO World Heritage site. These visits allowed participants to immerse themselves in local history while encouraging informal exchanges in a setting different from the meeting rooms.

These moments of discovery, combined with working sessions and social evenings, contributed to providing a complete and memorable experience, blending professional reflection, human interaction, and cultural immersion, thereby enhancing the overall scope of the congress.
